The entrance side of the Nature Center features a large crushed-rock parking lot with plenty of space for gatherings and school groups large and small.

The display room inside the Center features a variety of life-like wildlife mounts to view.

 

Live AnimalsLive Animals

The live animal display wall inside the Center also features a variety of live native fish, as well as a snake, salamanders and turtle.

Ventura-area muralist Sandra Quintus has completed a breathtaking wetland mural in our display room. This image shows only a small portion of it. You'll have to stop out to see the whole thing.

The entire north wing of the Nature Center consists of a large multipurpose meeting room facility capable of comfortably seating 120 people. The room comes complete with tables, chairs, and an attached full kitchen. The room is available for rental for receptions, reunions, parties, business meetings and gatherings of all type. In addition to the view of Smith Lake, the Giving Tree is a beautiful feature of the large meeting room. It proudly displays the names of all those who have made financial contributions to the Nature Center project in recent years. Want to be on the tree? Giving Tree Information

 

libraryNature Library

The Nature Center Library houses a wide variety of nature-related books and magazines, as well as a great selection of kids nature books and videos. There is even a kids reading/video nook in the library.
